Workshop Goals
The SMAP mission is currently in its formulation phase, during which algorithms for Level 1 through Level 4 (L1-L4) data products, and corresponding Algorithm Theoretical Basis Documents (ATBDs), are developed.

The goals of this workshop were to:

  1. Review progress on action items from the first algorithms workshop in Oxnard,
  2. Summarize progress on SMAP algorithms for L1 through L4 data products with special emphasis on L2/L3 products, including a review of the revised ATBDs,
  3. Seek input from workshop participants on the above items, and recent research on topics related to SMAP algorithms, through short presentations or posters, and
  4. Chart the course of the SMAP Algorithms Working Group for the coming year.
