Please visit the Workshop Website for more details on the workshop.
The workshop brought together experts in microwave remote sensing, hydrologic modeling, data assimilation, and applications to assess the state of the art in the use of microwave sensing for terrestrial water cycle studies and hydrologic forecasting, and to discuss strategies for future integrated observations with a focus on space-based contributions. Particular emphasis was placed on preparations for the hydrologic satellite missions recommended in the recent U.S. NRC Earth Science Decadal Survey report.
The program was organized around five session themes:
1. Overview & Missions
2. Soil Moisture
3. Surface Water
5. Integrated Framework/Applications
Each session included invited oral presentations, contributed posters, and a group discussion.
