SMAP Applications Workshop #3 and SMOS/SMAP Short Course, Boulder, CO

Workshop Objectives:

The 3rd SMAP Applications Workshop will prepare users for applications of SMAP products. Presentations, posters and discussion will showcase the capabilities of SMAP products and give attendees the opportunity to explore research and applications interests. The workshop will be a one-stop-shop to facilitate applications of SMAP products soon after the launch which is scheduled for 5 November 2014. Nine months after launch, Validated Level 1 data and Beta Level 2-4 soil moisture and freeze/thaw products will be released to the general public.

The goal of the SMOS/SMAP Short Course is to provide background on SMOS and SMAP data products and formats in order to foster use in atmospheric modeling and forecast applications.
